Samarkand, 1448. The Showrooms of the Khan Ulugbeck, Timur-Lengs grandson. A historical reference. Ulugbeck was the beloved grandson of the great conqueror Timur-Leng. Ulugbek was both the khan of Samarkand and the greatest astronomer of the East as well. His measurements remained all-time correct through centuries (!) and were even used by Kepler. AlasUlugbeck was not interested in power, he disregarded the cabals whereas it was baleful for each ruler. He was murdered upon his own sons command in 1449. The patricide ascended the long hoped throne. Expectedly, the astronomy in Samarkand decayed and the buildings of the observatory were destroyed. Yet, the sons reign didnt last long he outlived his father by half-year only. The inscription on the Ulugbecks grave-stone damns Abdul-Lyatif (the patricide).
